    TSR is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Designer to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country to support client site design team in electrical and instrumentation design for minor projects at a large manufacturing facility in Richmond, VA. This is an onsite position with a flexible work schedule.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Modify or create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, PLC and DCS I/O drawings, instrument loop diagrams, electrical equipment arrangement drawings, cable tray layout drawings, CCS (Cable and Conductor Schedule), instrument lists, instrument installation details, electrical equipment and instrument specifications, conduit routing drawings, panel layout drawings and assembly details.
    • Design will encompass traditional 2-dimensional drawings and advanced 3-dimensional modeling.
    • Will receive functional direction from client personnel and/or project team leaders
    • Work includes gathering field information, locating related reference drawings, preparing specifications, getting quotes for E & I items, and writing E & I sections of scopes of work.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a good working knowledge of power distribution, motor control, instrumentation, wire & cable sizing, NEC requirements, etc. with 5 -7years of experience preferred.
    • Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrument/Controls Technology or demonstrated proficiency in Electrical or Instrumentation Design in lieu of degree
    • Experience using a modern CAD Drafting software package
    • Experience in the Chemical Process or related industries with the working knowledge of E&I equipment and systems design.
    • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple, concurrent projects or activities.
    • Good communication & documentation of work products are essential

    Duties will include moderate field work, including walking, climbing, lifting, reaching (sometimes in awkward positions) to obtain physical dimensions, references and field information
