What you'll be doing:

Overseeing and coordinating tax planning and projections for business clients and their ownersReviewing all types of tax returns for closely held businesses and their ownersReviewing or completing tax research projectsGathering and preparing information for federal and state tax auditorsProactively communicating relevant emerging tax issues and industry information to clientsProviding proactive advisory and consulting servicesProviding overall leadership, supervision, training and performance feedback to staffIdentifying opportunities and recommends methods to improve service and work processesServicing consulting engagements with large private and public companies on an as needed project basisCreating new business opportunities by expanding existing client relationships, developing personal networks, and participating in industry and trade associationsWhat you'll bring to the role:Bachelor's degree in Accounting is requiredLicensed CPAAt least 8 years of recent public accounting experience with an emphasis in tax3 to 5 years of supervisory experienceIndustry experience in real estate, construction, or manufacturing is considered a plusExperience with planning, compliance, research and defenseRequires reliable transportation and a valid driver's licenseStrong background and experience with Tax methodologies and techniquesAbility to build relationships while asking tough questionsStrong time management and organizational skillsWhy MarksNelson?:Our culture values teamwork, ideas, and collaboration.
