Job Description
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma and manage donor adverse events. They will review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The role follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support for environmental, health and safety.
The specialist will evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in SOPs. They will follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
They refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
