Job Overview:Job Summary: Moves racks of meat from smoke or fermentation chambers to drying rooms. Remove sticks of meat from rack and places them in drying bays. Labels/scans with handheld scanner products in drying bays. Returns racks to wash area. Removes excess casing from product with clippers. Washes product. Moves product to pre-pack area.
Responsibilities:Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Moves racks of meat from smoke or fermentation chambers to drying rooms and returns racks to wash area.
Remove sticks of meat from rack and places them in drying bays.
Labels products in drying bays.
Removes excess casing from product with clippers and washes product.
Moves product to pre-pack area.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to use a handheld scanner, complete entry work on a touchpad, and print labels as product moves through the area.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk or hear and will be working from heights. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb to heights up to 30 feet, and must be able to reach all levels in the bay. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.
