About the role: Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its facility in Franklin, IN. This role offers the opportunity to offer support and direction across all production aspects, including costs, quality, safety compliance, and environmental standards for manufacturing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes.
Monitoring equipment and process reliability, identifying and addressing areas of concern.
Analyzing engineering change notices, determining necessary part or process changes, and executing them.
Providing engineering assistance in the planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

Skill Descriptors:

Decision Making and Critical Thinking:

Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to analyze situations accurately and make informed decisions based on sound judgment.

Judgment and Decision Making:

Familiarity with the decision-making process; capable of evaluating the impact of emerging business scenarios and selecting the optimal path forward, effectively communicating actions that enhance organizational performance.

Lean Manufacturing:

Understanding of the philosophy, principles, and implementation strategies of lean manufacturing; skill in integrating and applying lean manufacturing principles to existing production and management processes.

Manufacturing Equipment:

Proficiency in the electrical, mechanical, and logistical equipment used in manufacturing; adept at safely operating, maintaining, upgrading, and storing such equipment.

Manufacturing Processes:

Comprehensive understanding of current product manufacturing methods, technologies, and processes; ability to execute, plan, oversee, and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Manufacturing Safety:

Thorough knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols; capability to identify work-related hazards and take necessary actions to comply with safety regulations for the well-being of employees, the environment, and the site.

Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:

Extensive knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies concerning manufacturing operations; expertise in planning, guiding, and overseeing manufacturing processes to ensure compliance.

Problem Management Process - MFG: Familiarity with manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies, and techniques; ability to systematically resolve issues to a successful conclusion.

Top Candidates Will Have:

Experience in machining - CNC, tooling, and fixturing.
AutoCAD design expertise and a working understanding of GD&T.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
2-5 years of manufacturing experience.
