    Job Description:
    A successful applicant will be responsible for is responsible for the oversight and execution of all day-to-day maintenance tasks at both locations in the Northern Virginia area
    This position involves coordination with the Facility Manager and Building Engineer to ensure that all maintenance resources, materials, and equipment are being used in the most efficient manner possible to meet operational objectives
    The Assistant Building Engineer is to ensure that all tenant requests are completed in a timely fashion
    Additionally, the Assistant Building Engineer will ensure that outside vendors and other maintenance personnel complete scheduled work in a timely fashion while following all policies, procedures, protocols, and controls

    Key Requirements and Qualifications:

    • 24/7 On-call for building emergencies
    • Coordinate, operate, maintain, and repair all appliances, HVAC, life safety, plumbing, electrical, and all other equipment and building systems.
    • Review and perform necessary adjustments to all HVAC and related equipment and maintain temperatures per industry standards.
    • Oversee landscaper work, irrigation system, and irrigation system repairs.
    • Assist the FM and Building Engineer to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards, and regulations.
    • Order, stock, and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
    • Supervise tenant move-ins and move-outs.
    • Executing plans in live emergencies.
    • Assisting emergency authorities and response teams.
    • Emergency response, valuation, restoration, and incident reporting.
    • Conduct lightbulb and ballast replacements

    Skills and Knowledge Required:

    • 3+ years of experience in the building maintenance industry with commercial office buildings
    • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, with hands-on experience.
    • Flexibility of work hours as work needs change
    Can respond to after-hours emergency calls


    • Must also be available for occasional maintenance projects scheduled on the weekend.
    • Must have a positive attitude and be able to fuel growth and innovation.
    • Must be customer-focused and results-oriented.
    • Must want to continuously learn and develop.
    • Self-directed and able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
    • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and CMMS.
    • 3+ years of demonstrated experience or related area.
    • US Citizenship is required to meet government regulations
    • MUST have and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance and possess or willing to take a Counterintelligence (CI) or Full-scope polygraph.
    • Reliable transportation is required for travel between 2 locations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working in a multi-tenant office environment.
    • Industry certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders multiple times daily.
    • Extensive periods of walking, kneeling, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, carrying, climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting
    • May carry equipment, tools, or supplies weighing from 40 to 80 pounds.
    • Visual-specific abilities to recognize people, numbers, words, color, close, distant, depth perception, focus, and peripheral.
    • Access remote working areas.
