- Either be a certified DSHS and DOH approved Instructor or meet qualifications to become one. Work with the director on training needs and course completion for all teaching topics.Submit application/get approval in a timely manner. Teach& follow all requirements according to DSHS and DOH regulations.
- Hold a healthcare license in active standing as required for the topics that will be taught. (LPN or RN.)
- Have a minimum of 1 year's experience in a direct care position in an LTC setting in the last 5 years (paid or unpaid). This does not need to be full-time, but it needs to be consistent work.
- Provide a copy of DSHS approved 4-hour Adult EducationCertificate (or be willing to attend the online training class).
- No physical limitations that would prevent teaching students in hands-on skills practice of all skills required by HCA-Cs & NACs

- 100 hours of adult teaching experience preferably in Basic Training, or 40 hours of teaching Basic Training with an approved instructor which can be done in our instructor mentoring program.
- Prior experience in multiple care settings in the healthcare industry.
- 100 or more hours of experience teaching adults within the last five years in a classroom setting with documented practice in adult education theory and practice principles, including classroom facilitation skills and techniques, facilitating adult learning activities, working with adults with special training needs, and administering competency testing for both skills and written testing.
- Knowledge of adult education theory and practice principles, instructor facilitation techniques, facilitating learning activities for adults, administering competency testing, and an evaluation of the individual's teaching and competency testing skills by the course instructor.
- Experience in assessment and competency testing.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Teach 4 to 5 days of CNA/NAC classes, either 2 days one week and the next 3 days, or all in the same week. Teach specialty classes, if desired, such as Dementia andMental Health, if candidatedesires more class teaching days.
- Turn in completed class documents to the office in a timely fashion so they can be processed for student earning certificates.
- Evaluate and document student knowledge and skills competencyin the structure provided by them from WABON.
- Cooperate with WABON, in their directions to monitor classroom instruction and course records.
- Observe the classroom and class equipment for safety and replacement needs, reporting needs to the training director.
- Report received concerns/complaints to the Training Director.
- Follow the state's curriculum outline when instructing and using varied teaching techniques for adult students, including, but not necessarily limited to, sharing subject matter, knowledge, PowerPoints, activities, demonstrations, videos,and eliciting student participation and understanding. The administration team will support development tools for any part of the CNA/NAC program.
- Have students complete evaluation forms for each class taughtper WABON requirements.
- Assistand have students work together tomaintainthe cleanliness/neatness of the training site after each day of classes.
- Additional duties as requested by the Director and as necessary for a successful program.
- $35 - $40/hour
