    Description

    Senior Transportation Officer Job Summary:

    This position is responsible for securely transporting detainees between destinations and ensuring that the vehicles used for transportation activities are safe and properly maintained.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist management in resolving unique or unexpected problems while transporting detainees, develop effective solutions.
    • Review vehicle inspection reports, summarize for Transportation management.
    • Evaluate and ensure all permits and licenses for assigned vehicles are in order.
    • Verify safety equipment before trips, notify Transportation management of issues.
    • Track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
    • Participate in interviewing and screening of applicant Transport Officers.
    • Review necessary paperwork, ensure timely submission to Transportation management.
    • Maintain PBNDS/FBNDS safety standards during detainee transport.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum age: 21 years old.
    • Valid Class B or C Chauffeur's License with Passenger endorsement within 90 days.
    • 80 hours of verified driver training from an approved company trainer.
    • State Firearms License.
    • State Security Guard License.
    • Approved certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
    • Clean driving record (no preventable accidents or suspensions).
    • Pass company and DOT drug tests.
    • Ability to work overtime and extended periods with frequent overnight stays.
    • Physical stamina to handle stress and demanding environment.
    • Proficiency in using department software.
