    Description

    Kingdom East School District, KEAP afterschool program has a need for a Nursing Assistant (LNA), to work at Lyndon Town School with our school nurse providing treatment and care to student(s) with minor or acute medical needs.

    The ideal candidate will be licensed and eligible to function as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) and have experience working with young students in an educational setting.

    This is a part time position after the normal student school day under the supervision of the KEAP Director and school nurse.

    This would include working with students by implementing social/emotional/behavioral and/or instructional programs in consultation and supervised by special educators and/or teachers in agreement with the school nurse.

    LNAs are also considered IIAs per the final KESD February 2022 negotiated agreement as they work with small groups (typically 1:1) providing students with intensive needs with intensive therapeutic, social-emotional and/or self care interventions.

    Position will target goal-directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner. Background check, including fingerprinting required upon employment.

    Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students.

    Our high school students have "choice" and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools Lyndon Institute or St.

    Johnsbury Academy or another high school of their choosing.

    We are located about 3 hours from Boston, Montreal and Portland, ME.
