Medical Scribe

ENT for Kids, a Division of FPA is seeking an Medical Scribe to join their busy practice.

Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED

Experience:
Preferred Minimum 1+ years working as a medical Scribe in a medical practice preferred.
Will consider medical student looking for clinical hours (full time)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific:
Perform duties under supervision of physician or physician assistant.
Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.

Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and document all information in patient's chart.

Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and Physician Assistant.
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including composure, diplomacy, and the ability to act with a diverse patient population.
Manage confidential employee information in a professional manner.
Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
Effectively time-manage job responsibilities; Organize workflow and documentation.
Responds to medical emergencies and solicits immediately.
Other duties assigned by Practice and Clinical area.
