- Provides leadership and support for clinical operations and other hospital staff.
- Provides assistance for clinical decisions until Department Director and/or Unit Supervisor are available.
- Serves/acts as a resource to both staff/team members and patients for clinical and ethical issues when Department Director or Unit Supervisor is unavailable.
- Maintains accurate on-call personnel information for staff and physicians.
- Coordinates bed placement/control in a timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinates timely admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from the department/unit, balancing leadership and staff roles to ensure excellent continuity of care and safety while achieving leadership objectives.
- Will assume position of Incident Commander during Code/Disaster when Administration is unavailable.
- Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current licensure to practice professional Nursing(RN) in the State of Ohio.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Specialty certification in Nursing Executive Leadership strongly preferred.

Job DescriptionWood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Nursing Shift Supervisor. The Nursing Shift Supervisor assists with the leadership of the various hospital departments by serving as a management and clinical resource, providing shift oversight and coordination of unit/hospital operations in collaboration with the respective Department Director(s) and Administration. Participates in activities related to patient care as needed during the assigned shift. Demonstrates critical thinking/clinical reasoning to ensure delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the hospital. Effectively communicates and collaborates both intra- and interdepartmentally with staff, directors, physicians, administration, and other healthcare team members.
