    Job Title: Junior Mainframe Developer

    Location: Chicago IL

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems using languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, JCL, and DB2.
    • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
    • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure the reliability, stability, and performance of mainframe applications.
    • Debug and troubleshoot issues in mainframe programs and systems, and implement necessary fixes and enhancements.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand client requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and technologies related to mainframe development and incorporate best practices into project deliverables.
    • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security guidelines, and regulatory requirements in all development activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in mainframe technologies such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, JCL, and DB2.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies is preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies are a plus.
