- Typical projects require the preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications), including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, grading, drainage, pavement design, marking, signage, erosion control, coordination with other disciplines, water & sanitary utilities, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling
- Planning, design, and project management of civil & transportation projects for airport clients
- Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at large
- Growth and mentorship of younger staff within a dynamic Aviation Group consisting of planners, engineers, and construction professionals
- Serve as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high-quality products and services to our clients
- Identification and pursuit of business opportunities
- Engagement of clients, agencies, and other professionals within the aviation industry
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required. A Master's degree in advanced studies will be recognized in the evaluation process.
- Minimum 6 years of civil engineering experience (8 years preferred) with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in transportation, civil site development, and civil infrastructure projects, including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports, and specifications
- Strong preference will be given to those with not only a technical understanding of delivering engineering projects but also those who possess a complete understanding of delivering a quality and comprehensive product, program, or solution for our aviation clients.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri and Kansas, or the ability to gain licensure in these states
- Demonstrated skills and a working knowledge of design programs for use in civil & site design projects, including skills in Civil3D that can be used or taught/transferred to team members
- Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments and working within a highly dynamic environment is important
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Periodic out-of-town travel for project-related meetings, client management, and business development is anticipated.
- Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license and access to transportation
