    Job Purpose

    The Computer User Support Technician will provide database, asset tracking and SOP development and execution support in a DoD environment. The Computer User Support Technician will provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or electronically. The Computer User Support Technician will provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. The Systems Administrator provides: Information Technology Purchase Request (ITPR) Support, Risk Management Framework Support, Command Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems support, command phone program support, command cable TV and commercial Internet support.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To ensure asset s meet all cyber security and classifications requirements, including proper storage , handling inventory, disposal, clearing, sanitizing and destruction.
    • Complete any required documentation for asset storage and disposal.
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for asset functions and processes.
    • Prepare devices to include the removal of hard drives, storage devices , and/or other hardware.
    • Collect data resulting from data calls regarding assets.
    • Provide technical assistance for personnel.
    • Research costs and ordering policies and procedures for purchases and/or financial data calls.
    • Provide Subject Matter Expert support for asset troubleshooting, ticket submittal, and coordination.
    • Coordinate to ensure access to asset and asset availability.
    • Provide Subject Matter Expert and technical assistance regarding field assets.
    • Support Information Technology Purchase Requests (ITPR) submittals to ensure assets meet compliance.
    • Coordinate to obtain assets from owning authority.
    • Develop and maintain inventory for assets, software, and IT assets.
    • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inventories.
    • Develop and maintain database to track receipt, processing and completion status of System Access and Authorization Request (SAAR) for staff and supported personnel.
    • Perform Risk Management Framework.
    • Assists in development, information gathering, and tracking for shipboard ITPRs to facilitate submittals for processing.
    • Perform all required and approved Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) RMF process steps.
    • Participate in any related meetings or teleconferences with assessors, validators, or approving authorities to support requirements.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education & Experience:

    • Bachelors degree or 4 years relevant corporate or military experience
    • 3-5 years experience providing computer support and system administration
    • Knowledge of system security.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills (Operating systems).
    • Proficient using MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
    • Excellent problem solving, decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
    • Shall be able to lift materials up to 50 lbs., and perform squatting, kneeling, and extended standing.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound skills in written and oral communication.
    • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
