Description

Job Title: Emergency Department Technician

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assist in providing patient care tailored to individual needs within the defined scope of practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or Provider.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is a must.
- Mandatory possession of BCLS certification.
- Previous experience as an Emergency Department Technician or Medical Assistant is highly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
One of the following certifications/programs is obligatory:
- B-EMT
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Completion of an official nursing education program.
- Graduation from a recognized medical doctor education program.

- Alternatively, one year of relevant experience in an Emergency Room can substitute for the above-required certification/program.
(The completion of the relevant certification/program within 12 months of employment is mandatory).

- Successful completion of a specified orientation period is a prerequisite.
- Possession of an EMT license is advantageous.
