    Part-Time Music Teacher

    Academy of Mount St. Ursula

    AMSU is seeking to a part -time music teacher.

    Part -Time Music Teacher
    Qualification, Skill, and Knowledge Requirements


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive music program for Grades 9-12 students.

    • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive music lessons that align with state standards and educational objectives.

    • Teach students how to read music, play instruments, and sing.

    • Plan and lead rehearsals for school performances and concerts.

    • Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, teamwork, and respect for diversity.

    • Assess students' progress and provide feedback to students and parents.

    • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate music into the broader curriculum.

    Requirements:

    • Dedication to AMSU mission and values

    • Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching music to middle school or high school students.

    • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area preferred

    • Bachelor's degree required

    • A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven Catholic school culture

    • A strong desire to become a better teacher by joining AMSU community

    • Strong knowledge of music theory, music history, and various musical genres.

    • Ability to play at least one musical instrument proficiently.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skill

    Salary:
    $35 per hour (negotiable based on education and experience), 15 hours per week (approx.)
