    Description

    Purpose:

    The Department of Science, Technology, and Mathematics at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO is seeking applicants for a Full-Time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment beginning August 2024. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Drafting Technology and Civil Engineering Technology in support of three-degree programs, including Pre-Engineering.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Teach undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology, and related fields.
    • Contribute to program innovation.
    • Develop a research program or industry collaboration that fosters continued contribution to the academic disciplined while providing enriching learning experiences to undergraduate students.
    • Advise and mentor students.

    Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve on departmental and institutional committees.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to teach across the curriculum, in one or more sub-disciplines including, drafting, structural, geotechnical, transportation, surveying, and other related fields.
    • Ability to teach a diverse student body and incorporate students into extracurricular opportunities and research.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and operate as a member of a team.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:

    • Terminal degree in Civil Engineering or related area is preferred.
    • Master's degree with appropriate professional certification/licensure is acceptable.
    • Prior industry experience of postdoctoral experience is recommended/preferred.
    • Prior experience engaging with a diverse undergraduate student body is recommended/preferred.

    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

    • Professional licensure is recommended/preferred.
