    POSITION SUMMARYProvides leadership in the administration of the Industrial Technology studies program, including the development and implementation of specialized studies of automation, robotics, hydraulics/pneumatics, mechanical blueprint reading, and related technical skills.

    Assures consistency of plans with the mission of St. Charles Community College.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMonitor and evaluate program effectiveness; assists in the preparation of the college catalog, class schedules, and other public information for assigned programs.

    Knowledge of classroom procedures, student conduct, and following safe practices in classroom activities. Demonstrated commitment to leading and supporting academic programs through quality and excellence.
    Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, and staff in a diverse environment. Maintains accurate student and other records as required by law and the Board of Trustees.
    Position may require teaching duties not to exceed 49%.

    Additionally, some positions may recruit, hire, train, and mentor faculty and staff including direct supervision of staff and completion of payroll documents and performance appraisals.

    This position requires thorough knowledge of industry rules and regulations in the industrial technology discipline including comprehensive knowledge of equipment, training procedures, testing skills, test preparation, and practice protocols.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESStrong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a variety of multi-cultural backgrounds. Provides excellent customer service. Position requires regular and predictable attendance.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in supporting discipline studies or related field, and/or a combination of education and related training, and tested experience of supporting discipline equaling 5 full-time years.

    Working knowledge of Quality/Process Improvement Strategies.

    PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

    Manufacturing Skill Standards and Council Certified Production Technician (MSSA CPT), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), HVAC License, Licensed Electrician, Licensed Plumber, OSHA trainer/instructor certification, CNC certification, Six Sigma or related credential; successful completion of an industrial apprenticeship, industrial journeyman in one of these or similar programs.**Will be subject to a criminal background check.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPGenerally, reports to Dean; but may vary upon organizational need.
