    Summary / Role Purpose

    The R&D Verification Engineer II is responsible for the automated testing activities of Motor-CAD, a Multiphysics simulation tool utilizing complex FEA and analytical methods.

    In this role, the R&D Verification Engineer II uses advanced engineering and software skills to help the team tackle complex issues and ensure that product requirements and quality standards are met.

    As a graduate with a good degree in computer science or a related field and some commercial software experience, you will join a growing and dynamic team to support the development of class-leading software.

    You will be a self-starter, responsible for managing your own tasks and working collaboratively.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Perform automated testing activities, including the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and verification of automated build and test processes

    Create test plans and contribute to testing initiatives, participate in defect management

    Collaborate with others to analyze product features and develop automated test cases to maximize coverage

    Apply technical and professional knowledge in specialized areas and investigate issues in both product functionality and processes/deployments

    Maintain tools, infrastructure, build, and testing environments for product creation team

    Understand and employ best practices

    Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

    BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (2:1 or above) with 2 years' experience, or MS with no experience.

    Strong computing skills with demonstrated knowledge of software development processes and technology. Passion for crafting robust and efficient automated build and testing processes that will support developers in creating world-class software.

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills

    Commercial experience with CI/CD tools e.g. Azure DevOps

    Experience with Python and shell scripting

    Understanding/experience of the unique testing challenges posed by simulation software and how standard testing practices can be adapted to suit real-life engineering needs

    Experience of commercial software development

    Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team

    Strong aptitude in Physics and Mathematics

    Knowledge of software development tools
