    Summary:

    The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC) seeks to recruit a Clinical Pathologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to serve as an Assistant Laboratory Director for Laboratory Medicine.

    Oversight of clinical laboratory operations, active participation in hospital committees, resident and medical school teaching are responsibilities of the position.

    The RPCCC Division of Laboratory Medicine is one of relatively low volume but of high complexity that allows for close collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical colleagues.

    The position has a minimal but vibrant component of teaching residents, students and clinical fellows.

    This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of a dynamic practice that as cancer focused is uniquely different from the usual positions in laboratory medicine.

    Collaborative research opportunities are abundant, but an academic track record is not required. Salary is very competitive with potential for sign-on bonus. In addition to a competitive salary we offer the opportunity to supplemental income with additional call responsibilities.

    The Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1898, is the first and oldest National Cancer Institute-funded Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

    Salary range is $215,000-$250,000 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.


    Qualifications:

    Required & Preferred Education and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have Board certification in CP or AP/CP and prior experience directing a clinical pathology service is preferred, but prospective graduates of 2024 are encouraged to apply.

    Additional preference includes board eligible / certified in Blood Banking / Transfusion Medicine.

    The ideal candidate would also have experience or fellowship training or experience in Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology / Immunology, Clinical Molecular Diagnostics or Transfusion Medicine.

    Candidates must be licensed to practice medicine in New York State and qualify for a NY Certificate of QualificationNOTE:

    Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
