Import and Export Freight Forwarding Specialist - Full-time PositionLocation:
Lancaster, TX
Our client is a distinguished Danish freight forwarder, specializing in military, government, and aerospace logistics solutions. This is a long-term position emphasizing new business development and client acquisition within these sectors.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee import and export shipments via air and ocean freight, ensuring efficient logistics operations.
Manage the full track and trace process to maintain transparency and visibility across the supply chain.
Handle documentation and compliance requirements for international shipping, including customs brokerage.
Utilize CargoWise or similar freight management software for streamlined logistics management.
Manage general cargo and hazardous materials (hazmat), ensuring compliance with TSA regulations.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure seamless shipment execution.
Proactively identify and resolve transportation issues or delays.
Stay updated with industry regulations, trends, and best practices to optimize operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, focusing on international air and ocean freight.
Proficiency in CargoWise or similar freight management software.
Strong understanding of customs brokerage processes and regulations.
Experience handling general cargo and hazmat shipments.
TSA qualifications preferred.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and fostering strong relationships.
