    About The Position

    This is an excellent opportunity for skilled RNs to utilize their expertise while providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Patient Assessment and Monitoring:

      • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, monitoring vital signs and heart rhythms via telemetry.
      • Interpret telemetry data and notify the healthcare team of any irregularities.
      • Develop individualized care plans to address physical, emotional, and psychological needs.

    2. Medication Administration and Management:

      • Administer prescribed oral, intravenous, and intramuscular medications accurately.
      • Monitor and report any adverse reactions to medications.
      • Implement pain management strategies and adjust care based on patient comfort.

    3. Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring:

      • Continuously monitor telemetry units, documenting any abnormalities.
      • Assist in interpreting telemetry readings for timely interventions.
      • Ensure proper functioning of telemetry equipment.

    4. Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care:

      • Provide care for post-operative patients, monitoring incision sites and managing drains.
      • Perform dressing changes and educate patients on wound care.
      • Administer treatments to prevent complications like infections.

    5. Patient Education:

      • Inform patients and families about disease management and medication regimens.
      • Offer advice on managing chronic conditions and post-discharge care.
      • Provide education on nutrition, activity restrictions, and fall prevention.

    6. Collaboration with Healthcare Team:

      • Work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.
      • Participate in daily rounds to discuss patient care needs.
      • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.

    7. Emergency Response and Critical Care:

      • Respond swiftly to medical emergencies.
      • Provide immediate interventions such as CPR and ACLS as necessary.
      • Manage acute patient changes, escalating care as needed.

    8. Documentation and Reporting:

      • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
      • Report any changes in patient condition promptly to the healthcare provider.
      • Ensure up-to-date patient information for continuity of care.

    9. Infection Control and Safety:

      • Follow strict infection control protocols for patient safety.
      • Assess fall risks and implement safety measures.
      • Uphold a clean environment, adhering to hospital policies.

    10. Quality Improvement and Continuing Education:

      • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
      • Stay abreast of nursing practices and healthcare technologies.

    Job Requirements

    • BLS certification
