    PRN MRI Tech Job Description

    The PRN MRI Tech is responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating patients.

    This role requires flexibility to provide supplemental support during weekends and call coverage, ensuring high-quality patient care.

    The position emphasizes safety, compassion, and adherence to professional standards while promoting individual growth and community health.

    Job Summary:

    • Need supplemental help to assist with days off, call coverage, and periodic volume increases.
    • Will only be used on an as-needed basis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform MRI procedures on patients: Prepare patients for MRI exam, explain procedure, administer contrast when necessary, position patients for the MRI scanner, select appropriate imaging techniques, and ensure technical quality of the scan.
    • Enter and monitor patient data.
    • Perform quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
    • Identify and report any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
    • Take emergency call within the department.
    • Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
    • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
    • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
    • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
    • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR) or Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
    • Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions.

    Working Conditions:

    The Woodlands is a Magnet Facility with 449 licensed & used beds.

    Varied shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends.

    Sunday day help needed.

    Help w/Call: Overnight and weekends (mostly weekends).
