    Job Summary
    The Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses


    Reports to:
    Supervisor, Environmental Services

    Job Specific Responsibilities
    Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:


    • Ensure hospital quality cleanliness and appearance of assigned areas
    • Staff development through ongoing training (one-on-one),
    • Perform area inspections to evaluate and monitor quality performance, efficiency, customer satisfaction and infection control standards.
    • Maintain current area specific records for supply/equipment and inventory control.
    • Perform and complete all other housekeeping and linen distribution duties assigned, including but not limited to cleaning occupied and non- occupied rooms
    • All other assigned duties related to Environmental Services
    Education and Experience


    • +2 years floor tech experience
    Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
    N/A

    Skills and Abilities


    • Basic knowledge of flooring and how to clean all types of floors and carpeting
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    • Demonstrated basic knowledge, after training, of cleaning procedures, operating equipment necessary, and a clean and safe envriornment
    Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
    This position requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety

    Physical Capabilities

    Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE); Ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of light/medium weight.

    Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching.

    Environmental/Working Conditions
    This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/ blood borne pathogens is high risk.
