- Effectively and efficiently plans visit content and schedule based on client capabilities, condition, preferences (when possible), physician orders and available resources.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal. State and local laws and regulations, the Organizational Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as agency policies and procedures and adheres in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
- Performs specific treatments and administers medications to implement the medical and nursing care plans.
- Applies appropriate preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing procedures and techniques to clients.
- Utilizes interview, observation and evaluation in assessing clients and applies nursing judgment, consistent with practice standards, in making recommendations to the primary nurse and client.
- Graduate from an accredited or state approved school of practical nursing.
- Current licensure in the state of Iowa.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute care setting.
- Home healthcare experience preferred.
- Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with clients and their families as well as all interdisciplinary caregivers, peers, subordinates and supervisors.
- Must have passed National Association Practical Nurse Exam (NAPNES) or equivalent medication exam before administering medications.
- Must have current Driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work site.
