    Pulsed Power Electrical Engineer

    About the Role

    We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Pulsed Power group to design electrical systems, procure hardware, and oversee assembly, testing, and operation of high voltage systems that support pulsed power for powering rare-gas/halide (excimer) lasers.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform electrical and magnetic field analysis using 2D and 3D electromagnetic finite element analysis software.
    • Communicate with mechanical, laser, and optical engineering team members.
    • Follow the design of the kJ-scale Phoenix laser system and subsystems.
    • Support procurement of Phoenix hardware and oversee assembly by interdisciplinary technicians.
    • Support shake-down and testing of pulsed power systems for Phoenix and operate equipment for laser development.
    • Support data acquisition and analysis.

    Requirements

    • PhD or MS in Pulsed Power, Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering/Technology.
    • 1+ years of industry experience working on pulsed power systems.
    • A willingness to learn from senior technical staff.
    • Interdisciplinary experience a plus.
    • Experience with computer simulation as an analysis and design tool.
