    Title: Webmaster and Graphic Designer


    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Webmaster and Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for the strategic management of Nashville State Community College's official website, as well as designing and producing printed materials for academic programs and other departments.

    This position works collaboratively across departments and is a liaison between the College and external vendors.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Designs and produces printed and digital materials for academic programs, student services and other departments/offices, including layout, typography, illustration and photo manipulation.

    Designs and produces a variety of publications from one-page fliers to multi-page booklets. Implements the College's digital newsletter, currently in WordPress. Manages publication log for the College which includes recording and tracking printed materials production.

    Collaborates with and takes direction from the Communications and Marketing team to ensure projects support the college brand and marketing vision.


    Writes printing specifications, serves as liaison between department and printers and is able to prepress documents for printing vendors. Regularly updates brand guidelines to maintain consistency in an evolving market. Assists with promotions and marketing, including social media posts, photography and graphics.

    Working in coordination with the departmental supervisor, develops, maintains and implements website strategy so as to be consistent with overall brand and marketing efforts.

    Oversees the official Nashville State website by managing and updating website in current digital content management system (currently using Omni CMS).

    Builds and adds webpages, along with writing new text content.

    Manages SEO for site, monitors and reports on web site analytics, ensures website remains consistent with overall College brand and identifies website needs and works to improve the user experience.

    Writes and edits new text content for website, manipulates photos and creates graphics for website, creates forms, directories, events and other additions using current CMS, and posts academic syllabi and other documents with HTML and CSS.

    Serves as Liaison between College and outside, third-party vendors and agencies, including web development agency who is hosting the web site; between Communications and Marketing department and the College's Technology Services Department; and between Communications and Marketing department and administration, faculty and staff for website and graphic design requests.



    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Associate's degree

    Three (3) years of related experience in designing and producing visual communications

    Experience in graphic design principles and print design execution


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Associate's degree or higher in Visual Communications or related field

    Experience in Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar applications

    Prior experience with web content management software, front-end web design, web design
    Languages, such as HTML and CSS, and SEO management

    Experience in Google analytics and the user experience

    Familiarity with back-end web development

    Ability to take photographs for social media and web site


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Graphic design, print production and prepress skills.

    Ability to learn and master CMS with web design languages:
    HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc., as well as develop strong SEO management skills. Effective writing and grammar skills. Ability to receive and follow instructions and project direction, while working independently on projects from start to finish.

    Ability to work on numerous projects at once, providing consistent and timely results. Organizational and communication skills necessary for receiving, tracking and completing work projects. Strong willingness to take feedback, learn and seek improvement when interacting with faculty and staff. Strong ability to adapt to changes. Ability to work as a team member in small department.

    Rate of Pay: $46,861 to $58,576 annually, depending on experience
