    Description

    Summary:

    Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnosticX-ray films as directed by physicians. Performs routine diagnosticprocedures and may be required to function as a Medical Assistantas needed.

    • Positions patients andadjusts equipment for taking X-rays following establishedprocedures. Instructs patients regarding procedures. Observespatient's vital signs during examination.
    • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologicequipment.
    • Maintains accurate radiologyrecords as directed and logs all procedures completed. Processesroutine paperwork and files reports.
    • Selectslength and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipmenton individual patient basis.
    • Examinesradiologic film for properties such as density and contrast,definition, magnification and distortion.
    • Develops and processes radiologic film. Delivers film toradiologists for reading/ interpretation.
    • Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical andradiologic supplies.

    Requirements:

    • Completion ofcourse in radiologic technology approved by the American Registryof Radiologic Technologists.
    • One year ofexperience as a radiologic technologistpreferred.
    • Current state licensure andcertification (ARRT) with the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologists.
    • Current BLScertification
