- Under the general direction of the faculty, the RA will take complex research ideas, concepts, and methodologies and apply them to the research agenda.
- Provide analysis, editing, and drafts for research products designed for practitioner and academic audiences. Develop, synthesize and provide analysis of literature reviews.
- Collect, manage, and manipulate data using a variety of tools and sources, including but not limited to Stata, R, or Python. Create exhibits and visualizations of data for publication.
- Independently manage all timelines and deliverables for multiple projects with competing priorities, and exercise decision making with regard to progression of research project and methodologies. Must be able to structure assignments and keep faculty member informed as necessary. Complete work with only general direction.
- When confronted with unexpected research data, be able to make deductions, add insight, and draw conclusions to share with faculty. Collaborate in development of new techniques and instruments. Make recommendations to and create original material for faculty based on independent research.
- Ensure compliance with department, University and federal regulations. Be aware of department, School, University policies and potential outside research policies.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Harvard Business School Professors David Scharfstein and Robin Greenwood seek a full-time Research Associate (RA) to contribute to research projects related to finance and banking.
Under the general direction of the faculty member, the RA will develop, design, and conduct research projects; gather, analyze, edit, and draft all forms of academic writing; produce original written materials and exhibits; and collect, analyze and interpret data.
The RA will report directly to faculty supervisors and administrative manager in the Research Staff Services office.Ideal RA candidates will be comfortable in an environment that requires a high level of independence, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to use discretionary judgment.
