    General Description / Primary Purpose
    The Assistant Director of Data Management is responsible for all aspects of high-level data analysis, data mining, strategic data analysis, planning, and data reporting. The Assistant Director will assist with design and evaluation of various data sets, manage systems and access for the Foundation. The Assistant Director of Data Management must understand relational databases and how to write queries, extract data and compile reports using various tools. Additionally, this position must be able to present the data to the internal and external customers in reporting formats that meet the business needs of UDAE. The Assistant Director of Data Management will oversee and manage work of the Coordinator of Data Management.

    Essential Duties

    Job Function
    - Perform strategic analysis, planning, data management and reporting. Assist in development and implementation of departmental performance measurement systems and their alignment with divisional goals.
    - Coordinate major data projects and develop strategies to manage institutional data.
    - Determine current and projected information needs for the division and help develop strategies to meet these needs.
    - Serve as lead analyst on assigned projects.
    - Assist departments in planning, design, implementation, and analysis of research, evaluation and assessment of various fundraising activities.
    - Research and develop strategies to capture and manage emerging data requirements of the division.
    - Provide technical support and facilitates integration of processes and procedures.
    - Coordinate with university stakeholders to deliver accurate reports.
    - Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders in identifying strategies for continuous data quality improvement.
    - Analyze fundraising data and report to respond to national surveys which impact the College's national rankings; such as:U.S. News and World Report, VSE Reports, etc
    -Write data extract programs/ queries in response to internal and external data requests
    -Create standard reports for ad hoc and recurring requests from internal and external customers
    -Develop enhanced business processes, requirements, specifications and reporting in response to evolving user requirements and anticipated future needs.
    -Provide operational assessments and feedback to the Sr. Director in support of strategic initiatives and planning, ensuring that goals and objectives for the department are met
    -In collaboration with leadership from functional areas within UDAE and IT develops and implement reporting solutions.
    -Supervise the planning, designing, and coordinating of various technology tools involving reporting and analysis of data for UDAE
    -Responsible for providing guidance and leadership needed for implementation, and troubleshooting various UDAE reports and data analysis tools.
    -Provides input for potential streamlining and automation of all processes/workflows
    -Design, develops, and implements multiple user interfaces for information processing and reporting
    -Provide progress reports and information requests to individual parties
    -Reports to the Sr. Director of Advancement Operations
    -This position is responsible for supporting highest confidentiality standards of UNF in relation to UDAE databases
    -Test, repair, and resolve complicated WCAG errors: test and repair documents for accessibility; and assist web editors within their organization to achieve accessibility compliance.
    -Responsible for project scheduling and timelines, oversight of project management, project quality assurance, data modeling, querying, and report writing

    A Master's degree from anin a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor's degree from anin a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions.

    -A minimum of four years' experience in report writing, data analytics, and data management

    -Experience in large complex organizations, preferably in higher education
    -Experience with client interfacing to gather requirements for reports
    -Proven experience in producing, analyzing and interpreting data to drive actionable strategies
    -Knowledge of Relational Databases;
    -Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
    -Highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a broad range of expertise and seniority, and elicit cooperation without direct authority

    -Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel graphs and charts, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Word, and internet browsers is required. Working knowledge of donor database record management and tracking system in a fund raising or development environment, familiarity with SQL (structured query language) for managing and reporting data in relational database management systems, and experience with statistical applications, such as SPSS, are highly preferred.
