    The salary range for this position is $117,113 - $152,720.

    We are looking for a Staff Procurement Partner to drive IonQ's complex procurement process with order and efficiency. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world's best quantum computers to solve the world's most complex problems. You will work closely with our technical staff to understand and help execute their purchases, and optimize our vendor relationships.

    Responsibilities:

    • Use industry and relevant data analysis to create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology, business unit, department, or project to help internal customers meet their goals
    • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain, to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts, including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements, and others
    • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce costs, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and leverage industry developments that benefit IonQ's customers
    • Influence suppliers' processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
    • Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable, on-time delivery
    • Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals
    • Monitor and evaluate the financial health of critical suppliers
    • Provide analysis of procurement options to facilitate Total Cost of Ownership decision-making within the program and management.

    You'd be a good fit with:

    • 3+ years of experience in hardware and services procurement, commodity management, or related roles within a technology-driven environment with focus on any of the following: optics, electromechanical, EEE parts, machined, and indirect goods and services
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Expertise: Proficiency in managing the entire procure-to-pay process, including procurement planning, vendor selection, contract negotiation, purchase order processing, receipt of goods/services, invoice reconciliation, and payment processing
    • Supplier Relationship Management: Strong skills in building and maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers, including conducting supplier performance evaluations, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
    • Spend Analysis: Ability to perform in-depth spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier consolidation opportunities, and areas for process optimization within the procurement cycle
    • Procurement Technology: Familiarity with procurement software and tools, including e-procurement systems, spend analytics platforms, and contract management software

    You'd be a great fit with:

    • 5-7 years experience in hardware and services procurement, commodity management, or related roles within a technology-driven environment with focus on any of the following: optics, electromechanical, EEE parts, machined, and indirect goods and services
    • Compliance and Risk Management: Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to procurement, as well as the ability to assess and mitigate procurement-related risks
    • Cost Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess the total cost of ownership (TCO) for goods and services, considering factors such as acquisition costs, operating costs, and lifecycle costs
    • Process Improvement: Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to enhance efficiency and reduce costs within the procure-to-pay process
    • Project Management: Proficient in project management techniques to plan, execute, and monitor complex procurement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
    • Communication and Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills and negotiation expertise to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers
    • Global Procurement: Experience in managing procurement activities on a global scale, considering regional and international regulations, currencies, and cultural nuances
    • Financial Acumen: Strong financial analysis skills to assess the financial impact of procurement decisions and make data-driven recommendations
    • Change Management: Ability to lead and manage change within the organization, especially when implementing new procurement processes or technologies
    • Contract Management: Proficiency in contract management, including the ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and statements of work (SOWs) to protect the organization's interests

    Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. Depending on the position, you may be required to be located in Washington DC, Seattle, Washington or the Toronto, Canada area. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don't let this stop you from applying.

    The base pay component of the offer will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
