    Description

    The Physical Therapy Assistant's responsibilities are to help the Physical Therapist provide treatment that improves patient mobility, relieve pain and prevent or lessen the physical disabilities of the patients.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Assists or supervises exercises and therapeutic procedures (per request of therapist).
    • Delivers physical modalities (PAMS) as instructed by the therapist.
    • Sets up equipment for treatment and maintains a clean, well-organized clinic area.
    • Observes patients during treatment to compile data on patients' responses and progress, and reports to physical therapist.
    • Prepares and submits a clinical progress summary based on the attainment of goals as directed by Organization policy.
    • Instructs, motivates, safeguards, and assists patients in exercise programs and functional training.
    • Complies with federal and state regulations.
    • Complies with APTA code of ethics.
    • Complies with continuation education requirements.
    • Performs other job duties as required by supervisor/DPT.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Licensure or Certification as required by State guidelines.
    • 1 years of experience in a physical therapy environment or related profession preferred.
    • Current BLS certification required.
    • Possessing basic knowledge in all the modalities.

    LANGUAGE:

    • Mandarin and/or Cantonese are preferred.

    STATUS:
    This is an FLSA non-exempt position.

    This is an OSHA high-risk position.
