    Purpose / General Description:

    Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible for implementing, leading, and continually improving the maintenance management systems for the fleet. Process responsibilities include planning, scheduling and performing maintenance activities, maintaining PM parts inventory replenishment systems and working with outside service providers as required in compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and lead safety programs: Increase awareness, address issues discovered, and ensure compliance for all employees, at all times, in all areas.
    • Develop and maintain technical skills of employees: Train employees on the skills needed to perform tasks, explain performance expectations, and provide coaching. Consistently monitor new technologies and skill needs of the employees, train as needed.
    • Provide effective leadership to all employees: Set a proper example and provide clear direction. Effectively recruit, staff, train and develop employees. Build teamwork, provide coaching and consistent performance feedback, address performance problems in a timely manner.
    • Manage and maintain diagnostic equipment, tools, support equipment and facility infrastructure: Review needs, develop options, and recommend capital planning changes to support the operation and consistent performance of the fleet maintenance team.
    • Maintain effective scheduling systems: Schedule and plan maintenance activities. Work with operations leaders and respond to changes or problems in the production environment.
    • Maintain effective recordkeeping and reporting systems: Ensure data is accurate and collected consistently. Ensure maintenance records are up-to-date. Train employees to ensure reporting is gathered on-time.
    Requirements:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High School Diploma / GED (Associates degree in Diesel Mechanics is a plus)
    • 5+ years' experience in leading a Truck Maintenance facility (Fleet Mgmt. Certification is a plus)
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office products (fleet management software - CMMS experience is a plus)
    • Strong organization, project management and time management skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills (communicate well at all levels within the organization)
    • Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostics and effectively problem solve to find root cause
    • Demonstrated ability to lead improvement efforts and contribute to the success of a team

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, walking and standing, are an essential part of this position, and as such sedentary work, repetitive motions, and substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are required to perform the work.

    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
