    SMT Operator for immediate temp-to-perm opportunity with our client in the Chelmsford, Ma area

    Principle Duties:

    Operator for solder paste printers
    Read traveler, load program, set machine parameters, and load associated stencil.
    a
    Manage solder paste tact time.
    b
    Break down printer, clean stencil.
    c
    Operate ultrasonic stencil cleaner.
    Operator for solder paste inspection machine
    Read traveler, load program, and set machine parameters.
    a
    Perform first print inspection.

    • Operator for component mounters
    Read feeder set up sheets, load program, re-load feeders, and edit program around missing components.
    a
    Verify components in matrix trays for
    i
    condition;
    ii
    orientation, and;
    iii
    Value.
    b
    Identify and forward machine spit outs.
    c
    Change packaging library
    Place components packaged differently from what was expected in the original program.
    d
    Change shape associated with part.
    e
    Perform job break down.
    f
    Place SMDs that cannot be presented to, or placed by, the mounters.
    g
    Perform PM.

    • Maintain traveler integrity initialize, provide manufacturing feedback, and record material shortages.
    • Operator for Reflow Oven
    Read traveler, load reflow program, set machine parameters, and load associated PCBAs.

    Feed PCBAs onto conveyor synchronized with removal rate.
    b
    Monitor condition of reflowed PCBAs for gross defects.
    c
    Manages workload in queue.
    i
    Monitor solder paste tack time to assess which (work orders) wet PCBAs take priority.
    ii
    Expedite first article inspection process
    iii
    Identify (with wire) final PCBA of the work order
    iv
    Assure movement of completed kits to next operation
    d
    Monitor reflowed PCBAs
    i
    Check for any component movement off pad
    ii
    Verify solder quality

    • Maintain ESD Controls, inventory at machines, inventory at Reflow Oven and production consumable items.

    Working Relationships and Procedures:

    Report to Surface Mount Supervisor
    Follow verbal and written instructions
    Duties are performed with intermittent supervision
    Have direct dealings with Set-up Operator, X-Ray Inspector, and PCBA Inspector.


    Working Conditions and Physical Demand:
    Electronics manufacturing work environment with light to moderate physical (task dependent with weights ranging from 1 to 15 lb.) demand
    Attention to detail, pace of work, routing of material, and complexity of assemblies require continuous visual and mental demand
    Decisions must be made with regard to timeliness, workmanship, quality, tolerances and other related factors.


    Education/Trade Knowledge:

    Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
    Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within electronics manufacturing
    Required to understand written and verbal instruction
    Required to present facts to Surface Mount Supervisor in order to determine best course of action.
    Formal training as an operator or maintenance technician on solder paste printers, AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment, or component mounters helpful but not required
    Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards a plus.
