We are actively expanding our in-house data science capabilities and are looking for a Data Scientist to develop data science-based engines to handle the end-to-end process of how we manage tickets. The perfect candidate will have a strong focus on statistics and/or machine learning, and proven experience translating real-world problem statements into mathematical/statistical models. Reports ToSenior Data Scientist
Responsibilities-Work with data scientists, account managers, and software developers to translate business needs of internal and external partners into data science tools
-Access/acquire data from internal and external sources as needed - primarily from relational databases (SQL), but potentially other sources as well
-Build, test, tune, and optimize statistical and/or machine learning models
-Collaborate with software development to take models to production and/or scale them as needed
-Develop necessary products (tools/visualizations/reports/dashboards) to make modeling efforts actionable
-Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on how to use data science products to drive value
Qualifications-BA, BS, or MS in an analytical discipline (e.g., Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics)
-0-3 years of work experience
-Excellent understanding of underlying statistical and machine learning principles and their impact on the quality and robustness of predictive models
-Experience with statistical forecasting
-Experience programming with R and/or Python
-Hands-on experience writing SQL queries to extract data from relational databases
-Great problem solving and critical thinking skills
-Flexible and willing to accept changes in priorities as necessary
Preferred Qualifications-Experience in driving quantifiable improvements using statistics, mathematical modeling and/or machine learning in a professional setting
-Experience with Revenue Management (RM) models, specifically forecasting and optimization in capacity-constrained environments
-Experience with version control systems (e.g., git)
