    Description


    The Medical Assistant will focus on providing comprehensive assistance for the Preventive Cardiology Clinic (PCC).This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm out of Oakdale (location set to open in June).

    Until the Oakdale location opens, the employee who fills this role will support the Edina location.

    A $1,000.00 sign-on bonus will be offered and paid out in two increments; $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 3 months and $500.00 to be paid out on the pay period after completing 6 months.

    Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

    Preventative Cardiology Clinic (PCC) is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

    Essential Functions:
    Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit.
    Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
    Monitor stress testing under appropriate supervisionHolter monitor placementAssist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.

    Give instructions or results to patients as instructed by physician or nurse practitioner either in person or by phone/email/portalEnsure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.

    Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
    Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).

    Assist with prior authorizationsAny and all other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Requirements:
    Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program1+ years' experience of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic setting

    Ability to:
    Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
    Complete job required training.
    Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
