Our client is a company in the healthcare industry. They are growing and doing very well financially. They are seeking to hire a Senior Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity offers upward mobility, a great company culture and flexibility. They work 3 days in office, 2 from home.

Position Summary: Prepares and maintains accounting records, examines and analyzes the records for the purpose of financial statement preparation, reconciles accounts and prepares accruals, maintains up to date fixed asset schedules, assists with various audits and filings to federal and state agencies

Responsibilities:

Prepares monthly AP accruals by in depth review of vendor provided statements and matching them against AP records to be further reviewed by A/P manager, processes final accruals into accounting software
Prepares monthly Ancillary accruals in accordance with historical utilization and processes them into accounting software
Posts adjusting journal entries provided by AR manager to properly track/reconcile current year revenue/census against prior periods
Posts standard entries on a monthly basis
Generates final GL activity journal
Updates Fixed Asset schedules for all operations on a monthly/quarterly basis
Assists in gathering of all required documentation to obtain replacement reserve reimbursements
Prepares semi-annual filings of accounting packages for Expedited Payment Status for all qualified by occupancy criteria operations
Reconciles revenue (financial and statistical) accounts b/w accounting and A/R systems
Assists in preparation of cost reports on the annual basis
Prepares capital improvement files for the auditors to assist with the annual capital report filings with the State
Maintains accounting records in accordance with the standard process and assures their timely filing in the storage facility
Assists treasury management support specialist in clearing checks during slack time
All other duties as assigned

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements:

BS in Accounting or equivalent

Job/Technical Skills:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant accounting software
3+ years general accounting experience
Proficient in data entry and management
Excellent time management
Strong analytical skills

Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
