    You Will Be Responsible For:
    The Transportation Manager directs, promotes, and coordinates the operations of the Transportation department for the Campus.

    Coordinates all Transportation responsibilities in a manner that optimizes efficiency, helps achieve the mission and goals of the department and Hospital, reduces costs, and results in outstanding customer service.

    Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
    Qualifications


    What You Will Need:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead, leadership, supervisor or related role with customer service experience; preferably in a hospital setting

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    • Bachelors degree in Business, Public Administration, Information Systems, with current experience in medical field

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

    • N/A

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

    • BLS
    • Current certifications in medical field

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Ability to understand customers needs and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner
    • Ability to read, write, and speak appropriately in English using good diction, and ability to respond to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous way as perceived by the customer
    • Knowledge of the patient transport and dispatch services processes
    • Knowledge of computerized configurations necessary for a stable working environment

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

    • Ability to data input information in a timely manner
    • Leadership skills, accepts responsibility, exercises authority and functions independently using effective written and verbal communications
    • Ability to work well with others, using tact and diplomacy
    • Accepts direction and responds to ever changing matrix of hospital needs
    • Discretion when discussing confidential employee related issues
    • Ability to set proprieties for the numerous Transportation and Dispatch Services activities of all patients, from infant to geriatric age
    • Maintains the confidentiality of patient and departmental information with no infractions
    • Familiarity with the Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
    • Ability to manage relationships with vendors and contracts
    • Ability to develop strategies to improve the departments financial performance (i.e. cost, productivity, etc.)
    • Knowledge of generating and manipulating Transportation related reports for tracking software

    Job Summary:

    • Articulates and shares comprehensive knowledge of general and specialized Transportation/Dispatch Services practices.
    • Coordinates all programs related to Transportation department.
    • Flexible and willing to make changes as deemed necessary, i.e. schedule adjustments or floating.
    • Maintains positive relationships by appropriately communicating information, evident by no more than one complaint in six (6) month intra-departmentally. Accountable for personal conduct, promotes and contributes positively to inter-departmental relationships with no more than two (2) complaints in a six (6) month period.
    • Researches viability of new technology for Patient Transport.
    • Understands and implements the regulatory requirements of Transportation program. Monitors effectiveness of programs deployed.
    • Regularly meets with customers about customer service (i.e. surveys).
    • Takes charge and responds appropriately to unexpected situations. Uses correct tone of voice, stance and non-defensive/offensive language.
    • Manages employees and staff in defined area appropriately.
