    JOB SUMMARY
    Responsible within assigned authority to evaluate, classify and process policy change requests (PCRs)
    for church and related ministry business, and complete audits on policies with audit-able premiums
    consistent with company established standards for growth and profitability. Provide assistance as needed
    to agents in resolving issues with existing policies and/or answer questions with respect to coverage
    existence or availability.

    POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Effectively process agent and underwriting policy change requests (PCRs) on current policies that
      are primarily of a minor to moderate complexity.
    • Assist other underwriters, within assigned authority, in the evaluation, classification and pricing of
      new and renewal church and related ministry accounts that are primarily of small size and/or
      minor complexity. Follow-up with agents to obtain information requested by other underwriters.
    • Negotiate underwriting issues with agents within established guidelines or guidance from regional
      underwriters.
    • Answer agent inquiries regarding our products and procedures submitted via email or the
      Regional Team line.
    • Appropriately document all files so that other underwriters, department and company
      management, and external auditors can identify and understand decisions made and actions
      taken.
    • Effectively prioritize and process workload to meet company service standards for agents and
      policyholders.
    • Accurately underwrite and process auto and worker's compensation policies within established
      guidelines and assigned authority.
    • Accurately underwrite audits on audit-able premium policies with proper follow up to agents and
      policyholders.
    • Accurately apply underwriting guidelines and adhere to all state and federal regulations in the
      completion of all work.
    • Prepare quotes and renewals for underwriters by gathering appropriate information on the
      Underwriting Analysis form for Underwriter review.
    • Assist Underwriting Services personnel by answering questions and supplying needed
      information.
    • Complete other projects as assigned.

    • Demonstrated ability to meet basic math and writing competency.
    • Must have demonstrated proficiency in using computers and business software applications.
    • Must display the ability to make independent decisions on accounts of a routine or minor nature.
    • Must have strong organizational skills.
    • Must have the ability to handle difficult situations in a diplomatic manner and use negotiation skills
      in the resolution of underwriting and agency differences.
    • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing.
    • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
    • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and present a positive and professional image of the
      company.
    • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department
      staff members.
    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications
    Education and/or Experience
    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree is desired.
    • Must have one to three years of general business, insurance, or related experience.
    • AU, CISR, or other insurance related coursework is desired.
    • One to three years of Property and Casualty insurance rating systems, underwriting, or other
      insurance related experience is desired.
    • Customer service related experience is desired.
