    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionMCC is currently seeking an APPRENTICE
    • PLUMBER in our Service Division.
    The Apprentice will be responsible for assisting craft workers with a variety of basic physical tasks. They may carry tools and materials or help set up equipment.

    Depending on the trade, individual may assist with installs, repairs, maintenance, and inspections, all of which include the use of or being around heavy equipment or machinery or hazardous substances and materials.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIESDepending on the state/city requirements, you may be required to actively pursue a four-year apprenticeship through an accredited program; while gaining field experience.

    Apprentices will participate in trade-specific installations and tasks with the Journeyman/SupervisorProvide assistance on the job (certain duties will depend on your trade)


    Prepare and clean construction sitesGather materials needed for workers on the job siteAssist in building structures for business and construction sites requiring the use of heavy equipment and machineryUnload and load materials, read plans and specificationsTransport tools and equipment to the work areaRecognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools and equipmentClean, maintain, and service equipment and toolsSafely operate and tend machinery and/or equipmentOperate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential dutiesWork with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential dutiesMay be required to drive a vehicle to various job sites throughout working hours Maintain a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company policy Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerRegular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performancePerform other duties as assigned RequirementsENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSExposure to varying outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavationsWork at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single-story and multi-story buildingsMust be able to lift and carry up to 85lbsMust be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, gripping, stooping, bending, walking, standing, and carrying; moving materials and manipulating thingsMust be able to work in overhead structures and around and beneath machineryMust be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and prioritiesMust have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe mannerThis position is subject to ergonomic testingSAFETY SENSITIVEThis position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.

    This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.

    For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating a motor vehicle, operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIESHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferredUnderstanding of traditional building materials, practices, and techniques preferredKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance preferredAll employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this positionMust be able to monitor gauges, dials, or other indications to make sure a machine is working properlyDepending on the trade, must possess mathematical, mechanical, and technical skillsMust be able to work in a team environmentAbility to communicate clearly with employees & customersAbility and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule:
