    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This assignment will assist the principal with non-administrative tasks supporting outstanding education and achievement for all students, developing individuals and teams, and nurturing relationships.

    Administer student discipline that is both fair and consistent, and monitor attendance. Coordinate meetings, conferences, professional development, etc. Supervise classified employees. Support the implementation of school instruction programs and initiatives. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Support the principal and assistant principals in the operations of the school.
    Sustain a positive, safe environment throughout and extending beyond the school day through effective supervision.

    Provide quality, accurate, constructive, corrective, specific and timely feedback to students and staff that encourages them to perform at their highest level.

    Encourage parent/guardian involvement in student learning through conferences, open houses, volunteering, etc.
    Establish student, staff, and parental rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems.
    Lead initiatives that will enhance student success in and out of school.
    Execute student discipline that is both fair and consistent.
    Enforce behavioral expectations for students.
    Supervise extra-curricular activities and events.
    Actively participate in all staff meetings, PLCs, and other required events.
    Apply and implement knowledge, skills and new understandings to improve instructional programming.
    Collaborate with others in the strategic assignment of all students that provides the greatest potential for maximizing achievement.
    Serve as liaison for school and district.
    Promote effective communication within the school and between the school and community.
    Utilize technology and/or other avenues to communicate with stakeholders.
    Use professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
    Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.


    SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supervision of support personnel.
    Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; conferences, goal setting, formal and informal observations, feedback and employee evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.
    Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g., procedures, equipment, materials and supplies).
    Accurately projects need for budget planning.
    Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy.

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/


    EXPERIENCE:

    Master's degree with emphasis in curriculum, instruction, leadership and administration (preferred).
    Bilingual (preferred).
    Four (4) years successful teaching experience.
    Experience working in secondary schools.
    Demonstrated experience in the areas of investigation, suspension, and expulsion.
    Demonstrated experience in the evaluation of performance.
    Demonstrated experience with Professional Learning Communities.
    Demonstrated skill in human relations, communication, and leadership.
    English fluency will be determined through the application and interview process.


    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
    Valid Colorado Driver's License.
    Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
    Valid Colorado Principal License (preferred).
    Valid Colorado Teaching License.

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    Frequent lifting 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pounds.
    Occasional lifting of up to one hundred fifty (150) pounds.
    Frequent sitting, bending, walking, and standing.
    Occasional stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.





    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    Mostly clean and comfortable.

    Principal or designee.


    LOCATION:
    Englewood High School

    SALARY:

    Salary placement from $51,140 - $98,548 based upon education, experience and Master Agreement. Current Salary Schedule posted at Salary Schedules - Englewood Schools.


    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    New hires or rehires will be responsible for the fingerprint processing fee required for background checks through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.


    CLOSING DATE:
