    Description
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.


    • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Prior Childcare experience preferred.
    • Must be CPR/First Aid certified - or willingness to obtain (must renew yearly)
    • Knowledge of Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana licensing standards preferred.
    • Professional dress and appearance is a must.
    • Must be competent in language arts and math.
    • Ability to interact professionally with adults and children with a positive attitude.
    • Maintain confidentiality on job related tasks.
    • Must be willing to learn, set professional goals, and participate in job related training.
    • Must be flexible; Assistant Caregivers may be required to work with all age groups.

    Performance Responsibilities:
    Others may be assigned.


    • Assist lead caregivers in the smooth operation of the classroom in a calm and consistent manner.
    • Maintain a clean and safe classroom.
    • Assist lead caregivers to ensure the classroom meets all Paths to Quality, NAEYC, and Indiana State licensing standards. Classrooms must be in compliance at all times.
    • Assist in ensuring a smooth transition from one age group to the next.
    • Support children and families in the potty training process.
    • Serve all meals in a family style manner; participate and actively engage with children during this time.
    • Strictly adhere to Safe Sleep guidelines for Child Care Centers.
    • Monitor student's progress and communicate regularly with lead caregivers.
    • Administer record keeping on all children; including but not limited to daily records, monthly observations, and bi-annual progress reports.
    • Use curriculum effectively and follow lesson plans based on each child's ability and developmental level.
    • Maintain rapport with parents.
