    Area Catering Sales Manager

    Shamin Hotels is a dynamic and growth-oriented hotel company that owns and operates hotels under Hilton, Marriott, Intercontinental, Hyatt, and Choice brands.

    With 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shamin invests in trusted brands and cultivates each classic hotel with signature touches, resources, styles, and services to enhance routine business meetings or unique special occasions.

    We are seeking an experienced Catering Sales Manager with a background in the hospitality industry to join our team.

    The Area Catering Sales Manager will support our Hilton and our Hilton Garden Inn Oceanfront properties.
    The Area Catering Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting all accounts in his/her assigned market segments.

    He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact the assigned hotel(s) event revenues based on the goals assigned to each hotel.

    He/she is the central contact for information specific to this department for assigned hotels.

    The Area Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for selling Meeting Space and Food & Beverage for the assigned hotels.

    Responsibilities also include establishing new accounts through prospecting and outside sales calls, generating revenue by up selling and booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high


    Essential Job Functions:
    ~ Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts including prospecting, site tours, prompt and competent

    ~ follow-up on leads/referrals, use of reader board analysis, and networking in order to maximize room revenue to meet and/or exceed individual and team sales and revenue goals.

    ~ Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts, community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase market share

    ~ Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program

    ~ Initiate and follow up on leads as directed or assigned

    ~ Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel(s), including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations

    ~ Utilize the automated sales system according to Shamin standards

    ~ Comply at all times with Shamin standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

    ~ Minimum expectation is to meet set monthly/quarterly/yearly revenue productivity and booking goals; preference is to exceed set goals

    ~ Operate within the established sales expense budget

    ~ Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies found in the sales system

    ~ Invite clients to the hotel(s) for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections

    ~ Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner

    ~ Understanding of all Shamin sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing revenues

    ~ Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel(s) with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property

    ~ Understand the competitors in the markets and the strategy to sell against them

    ~ Participate in the S.W.O.T. analysis

    ~ Comply at all times with Shamin standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations

    ~ Perform other duties as requested by management

    Education and Experience
    ~ Multi Property Experience Preferred

    ~ Hilton experience recommended

    ~ Previous Hotel Sales Experience Required

    ~ High school diploma or GED certification required.

    ~ Bachelor's Degree and/or extensive experience in a hotel or related field required.
