    The Department of Workplace Standards, Division of Occupation Safety & Health Compliance, is seeking an OSHIndustrial Hygiene Compliance Supervisor in the OSH Compliance Health Branch. This position will overseestatewide personnel engaged in industrial hygiene inspections and investigations.

    Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Reviews industrial hygiene inspection reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Reviews recommendations toindustries for the control of health hazards in maintaining compliance with employers.
  • Oversees the supervision of inspection and investigation activities of Industrial Hygienists.
  • Assignscomplaints, referrals, accident reports, and scheduled inspections to Industrial Hygienists.
  • Communicates with the general public, employees, employers, and representatives regarding occupationalhealth standards and provides technical guidance concerning occupational health problems and preventivemeasures.
  • Assists cabinet attorneys in preparing and settling cases and testifying at Kentucky OSH ReviewCommission hearings.
  • Participates in training seminars and programs and keeps current on enforcement policiesand regulations.
  • Researches occupational safety and health regulations and literature.
  • Calibrates and performs maintenance and tests on industrial hygiene instruments and technical equipment.
  • Receives 40 hours of training each year by attending and participating in professional OSH trainingcourses.
  • Conducts and monitors training seminars and programs.
  • Teaches technical health-related courses toprogram staff and trains new Industrial Hygienist employees.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in industrial hygiene or a related field.
    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in one of the above or related fields or completed occupational safety and health internship will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Graduate teaching or graduate research experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis or professional experience in occupational safety and health or a related field will substitute for the required education on a
    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions Work is generally performed in an office setting when preparing reports or evaluating inspections or investigations. Travel is required to conduct inspections or investigations. When conducting workplace inspections, employees in this job title are exposed to the same working conditions as those employed at the workplace. May be exposed to potential hazards which may require the following of safety precautions. Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS
