    Information SystemsPOSITION CONCEPTA Systems Analyst develops applications; implements software packages, integrates applications, and provides 24x7 application support.

    Collaborates on all phases of the software development life-cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the application design, development, and implementation phases.

    Utilizes appropriate development tools and technologies in keeping with the IT architecture.

    ADVANCEMENT IN PROGRESSIONAdvancement to a higher level is based on value added to the Company through increased duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments.

    Advancement is not automatic, i.e.

    based solely on time in the job, but will be based on direct observation of the employee's performance, accomplishments, qualifications, and the business and/or technical needs of the department.

    WORKING CONDITIONSMost work performed in an office environment, but occasional travel to operating locations is required.
    Level
    • Associate Systems AnalystThe Associate Systems Analyst develops software of limited complexity.
    Provides primary support for one or more applications. Participates on Application Development and Support teams. Works under direct supervision.
    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Develops software of limited complexity based on specifications provided.2. Implements software packages for which limited configuration and integration is required with minimal vendor contact.3. Integrates applications where the complexity of interfaces is limited and based on specifications provided.4. Provides 24x7 primary support for one or more applications typically classified as 'niche' or 'core', but not 'mission-critical'. May provide secondary support for mission-critical applications.5. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates.6.

    Executes the design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC by producing the prescribed deliverables under the guidance of more senior staff.7.

    Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their manager, senior team members, or project managers.

    Acquires and maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and application support assignments.9. Acquires and maintains appropriate technical skills.

    QUALIFICATIONSEducation

    Required:
    Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. In lieu ofBachelor's degree, additional years related experience may be considered.

    Related Experience

    Required:
    Minimum one year of experience in systems analysis, design, and development. In lieuof Bachelor's degree, a minimum high school diploma and 4+ additional years related experience may be considered.

    Creates and reviews technical design specifications. Works under limited supervision and mentors junior staff.
    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Develops complex software based on specifications provided. Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts and/or Business Partners to develop software specifications.2. Implements software packages for which in-depth configuration and integration is required; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources.3. Integrates applications with complex interfaces based on specifications provided.4. Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications classified as niche, core, or mission-critical.5.

    • Systems Analyst ConsultantThe Systems Analyst Consultant leads complex software development projects.
    Leads selection and implementation of software packages and drives substantial interaction with vendor resources. Serves as subject matter expert in technical discipline. Works under minimal supervision and mentors and directs junior staff. May serve as backup to Manager in a limited capacity.

    QUALIFICATIONSEducation

    Required:
    Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. Experience above minimum may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.

    Licenses/Certifications


    Preferred:
    Two or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines

    Related Experience

    Required:
    Ten years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.


    Preferred:
    Twelve years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.

    Required:
    Expert knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies. Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; leads application of new technologies when appropriate.
    Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Frequently presents information to their team and department.
    Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects. Assists manager with project scheduling and resource management.

    Creates and reviews technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.

    Expert with the Microsoft Office suite.
    Drives continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, application support, and technology architecture.

    SUPERVISIONDirect Supervision:

    Direct supervisory responsibility for assigned IS staff including Associate Systems Analysts, Systems Analysts, Senior Systems Analysts, and Technical Systems Analysts; may also supervise contract resources.

    Responsible for resource management, staff augmentation, and vendor relationships and ensures there is adequate support for all assigned IS applications for both day-to-day operations and on-call support.

    May serve as a backup to the Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONSEducation

    Required:
    Bachelor's degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent discipline. One or more professional certifications in specific job-related disciplines
