- Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and perform diagnostic evaluations to identify and assess health concerns
- Formulate diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and provide appropriate interventions for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including but not limited to respiratory infections, diabetes, hypertension, and mental health issues
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, considering potential interactions, side effects, and patient-specific factors
- Promote health and wellness through patient education, counseling, and preventive screenings, such as immunizations, cancer screenings, and routine check-ups
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Provide patients and their families with education on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies to promote better health outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with the latest evidence-based practices, treatment guidelines, and healthcare policies
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited nursing program with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner studies
- Current and valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Board certification from a nationally recognized certifying body, such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP)
- Excellent communication, empathy, and patient education abilities, with a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex medical situations and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a collaborative and interdisciplinary manner
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices, treatment guidelines, and healthcare policies
