    Description:The RF Sensor Center of Excellence is a cross-BA effort and the RF Sensor Mfg Engineer will be required to partner with the Prod-ops leads from the other BAs on RF Sensor development.

    The RF Manufacturing Engineer will have also have the responsibility for:


    Ensuring new designs are producible (Design for Manufacturing / Assembly) in a full rate manufacturing environment at a competitive cost (Design to Cost).

    Due to the range of maturity and technical requirements, each program approaches these goals differently, so flexibility is important.

    Additionally, the position will serve as the Manufacturing Engineering point of contact to ensure successful completion through major milestones of the scope of work.

    Frequent communication and collaboration with other disciplines including Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Finance, Production Planning and Control, Contracts, Master Planning, and Program Management are required.

    It can also involve developing or maturing manufacturing readiness assessments, creating manufacturing plans, make or buy analysis, presenting at various design and manufacturing reviews, travel to various manufacturing facilities including suppliers and other Lockheed sites to support testing and hardware or tooling related issues that may arise.

    The position will evaluate designs and provide manufacturing feedback to lead to affordable and manufacturable designs, while still meeting performance requirements.

    The ability to question design requirements that drive cost to ensure there is good technical justification is desired. Being able to build relationships and work in a collaborative environment with other disciplines is essential.

    The role requires <25% travel, primarily to suppliers or other Lockheed Martin Sites.


    The ideal location for the position is Grand Prairie, TX or Orlando, FL but other LM locations may be considered.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline
    • A broad base of knowledge regarding electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical production
    • Experience with product manufacturability and design for cost
    • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including to non technical personnel
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence
    • Ability to obtain a 'Secret' security clearance; an Interim Secret clearance is required prior to starting the role

    • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
    • Experience in program development with emphasis on cross functional collaboration and leadership
    • Experience in capacity & capital planning
    • Understanding and wide application of assembly and test methods
    • First Unit Flow planning & execution
    • Statement of work and proposal development experience
    • Experience with Make-Buy generation and strategy
    • Experience in the design of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling
    • Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) knowledge/experience
    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Remote Telework:

    The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
