    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are currently seeking a Heat Treat Operator to support manufacturing by ensuring production of products through heat treat processe(s) consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through co-workers.

    In all actions, supports the Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

    WAGE RANGE 20-22 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform heat treating according to customer and company specifications.
    • Operate ovens, quench tanks and all other equipment and machinery in the work center according to work orders, set up cards and supervisor instructions.
    • Relay all necessary information regarding ongoing heat treat operations to other operators when changing shifts or leaving the area.
    • Report any problems or potential problems to supervisor.
    • Ability to train less qualified employees in the heat treat process.
    • Must be flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed.
    • Willing to learn, use common sense and be ambitious.
    • Maintain clean safe work environment.
    • 6S and Lean
    • Flexible start and end times to meet customer demands (internal and external).
    • Keep equipment and work center clean. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools
    • Follow all safety rules and specifications.
    • Operate a lift truck to move parts
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

    • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge within the aerospace industry helpful.
    • Experience in heat treating operations preferred
    • Knowledge of sheet metal heat treating processes
    • Understanding of basic measurements.
    • Demonstrated decision-making ability utilizing good judgment in determining the appropriate guideline, procedure, and application to utilize in solving problems.
    • Understanding of process flows, lead times and lean principles in a "manufacturing environment."
    • Excellent record keeping skills, able to read, interpret and communicate in English.
    • Computer literate, good writing skills.

    • Complete and pass heat treat certification test.
    • 12 months hands on training at Level II
    • Forklift certified preferred
    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
    • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
    • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
    • May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
