    OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer 2 on our Marine product team in our Tulsa, OK location.

    In this role, you will be responsible for developing moderately complex mechanical solutions, testing and validating, completing technology explorations and/or delivering to mass production.

    Products in the marine category at Garmin include fish finders, transducers, sonars, chart plotters, radars and more Essential FunctionsComplete moderately complex mechanical designs for Garmin or OEM productsModel complex parts as an expert CAD userCollaborate and add value through participation in design reviews, providing comments and suggestions on mechanical engineering designsMockup and test basic mechanical systems to verify compliance with design requirementsMake estimates on tooling, part cost and design time for basic mechanical designsCommunicate effectively with vendors that produce custom mechanical parts as requiredSpecify test plans to validate moderately complex systemsPossess knowledge of injection modeling, die casting, sheet metal stamping, machining processes, etc.

    Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preferred part materials for basic part production and performance Basic QualificationsBachelor`s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering AND 1 year relevant work experience (not including internships) OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Demonstrates knowledge of CAD software and the ability to model moderately complex partsDemonstrates proficient knowledge and utilization of relevant engineering toolsDesired Qualifications Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Previous work experience (not including internships) in design, particularly for consumer productsMechanical systems repair or troubleshooting experienceExperience using SolidWorks CAD software in Solidworks and/or OnshapeGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
