- Requires a High School Diploma or GED and twelve (12) months Long Term Care cooking experience preferred.
- Requires a Food Handlers card or ability to obtain within 5 days of employment.
- Requires knowledge of safe and proper food handling, storage, and disposal practices.
- Requires ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Requires ability to function independently and be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Requires ability to process diet changes and new diet orders as received the Nursing department.
- Requires ability to ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance and conforming to individual resident diet cards.
- Requires ability to prepare meals conforming to the published menu and substitutes items only in an emergency or with the Food Service Manager's authorization.
- Requires ability to ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Requires ability to prepare all snacks and the evening nourishments according to all guidelines.
- Requires ability to ensure that all meals and snacks are served at the correct time as scheduled.
- Requires ability to process diet changes and new diet orders as received from the Nursing department.
- Requires ability to perform assigned cleaning in conformity to the schedule.
- Responsible for checking and signing in all food deliveries in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
- Must successfully clear a criminal history background inquiry with BCCU that indicates no felony or conviction on the DSHS Secretary's List of Crimes and Negative Actions.

POSITION: Cook Senior
SALARY: $20.62-$21.67 per hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Food Services Manager
LOCATION: Colville Tribal Convalescent Center, Nespelem, WA
Basic Functions: The Cook Senior is responsible for the preparation of all meals and snacks, assuring that all meals are prepared conforming to the menu and recipes. All meals must be prepared in a timely manner and presented in an appealing manner.

Education and Training:
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
